Realizing the opportunity and growth potential of nanotechnology, Govt. of Karnataka under the leadership and able guidance of Prof. C.N.R. Rao, Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister of India formed "Vision Group on Nanotechnology" comprising industry captains and academicians in 2007 to suggest policy initiatives for propagating uses and applications of nanotechnology in various walks of life & introduction of Bangalore Nano event was one such initiative.
After the notable success of Bangalore Nano 2007, the 2nd edition offered a clear vision of the Nanotechnology Research, Applications and Potential with increased interest and participation from the stakeholders. The event laid emphasis on RICH (Research Industry Collaboration Hub) - A unique platform developed for the benefit of Young Researchers / Emerging Entrepreneurs to present their research work.
